Despite its name, the Big Deck is not a large place. It sits on the side of Dock Street in Cedar Key looking out over the inlet, rather than the Gulf of Mexico. But don't let the location fool you - the view is great. You could also sit in the bar area and do some people watching on Dock Street.
I'm not sure what the live music schedule is, but it's certainly not rare. We went once to get a quick bite, and were able to take in some wonderful music. The drink prices weren't bad either, and I had a Blue Moon. The food, on the other hand, is just OK. I'd probably recommend only going there for drinks and live music, and maybe a snack.
The server we had was maybe the most helpful and kind we've had in Cedar Key.
