Chestnut Park and Breakfast Along the Trail

Aric decided to take the morning off fishing to join me on the Pinellas Trail for a bike ride. We went north (right on the trail) from our house. This direction winds around Lake Tarpon and ends at John Chestnut Sr. Park, which is between 8 and 8.5 miles from the house (my computer said 8.3). On this ride, you'll change directions much more than you do when heading south.

We explored the park a bit, taking in views of the lake and even seeing a deer!

We headed towards home after our time at the park and were getting pretty hungry. Along the trail, there's a restaurant called Clyde's Original Chop House (2364 Keystone Rd, Tarpon Springs, FL 34688). Since this is only 2.5 miles from our house (17.5 miles into our ride), we figured we could eat and still make it home without feeling too stuffed.

Their breakfast is very good and we highly recommend eating at Clyde's! Our server was great and the person cooking even came out to make sure we enjoyed the food. I devoured my eggs, potatoes, sliced ham, and toast. Aric loved his western omelet, toast, and potatoes as well. Even with us both getting drinks, the bill was under $20, which was much appreciated too!
