Mid-Week Lunch at Olive the World Bistro

Tarpon Springs, FL, is full of gems of every kind: museums, restaurants, breweries, bars, and more. This wonderful, small city surprises us weekly. One example of a pleasant surprise came last week. My mom arrived at lunch time to drop off a new piece of furniture and suggested going to lunch. I considered some of the usual suspects: Currents, Hours, Tarpon Tavern, but my husband was thinking outside of our box and suggested Olive the World Bistro. We’d never been, and my mom and I quickly agreed.

It took us about 10 minutes to walk to the bistro. When we arrived, we were greeted with a Tuscan atmosphere. Our server gave us a warm welcome and proceeded to explain the menu to us. They have a lot to offer, including (but not limited to) beer, wine, tapas, apps, soup of the day, salads, paninis, pot pies, and Italian dishes, like lasagna and gnocchi. I wasn’t expecting to see an oil bar, but that was a happy find:

We shared the bruschetta tapa. My mom ordered a chicken pot pie, which she enjoyed. Aric had the soup of the day, which included chicken combined with curry and peanut flavors. It was probably the best soup he ever had because he just would not stop saying how great it was! He combined that with a chicken parmigiana sandwich, taking half of it home. I loved

the lobster ravioli.

In the near future, we will be back for charcuterie and wine! I can't tell you how happy I am to find a charcuterie place so close to our home.

Note: there is a 3% charge for using a credit card, so we paid with cash.
