In the month of December in and around Tarpon Springs, FL, Christmas parades abound. It seems like you could go to a few a week if you wanted to! So far, we've attended two: one in Hudson, and one in Tarpon Springs.
1. Hudson Boat Parade: Our duplex in Hudson is on the water on a community called Leisure Beach. When we heard there was going to be a boat parade, we decided to make a night out of it. Aric made salad and dressed up a frozen pizza, and got a fire going. Then we waited. At 7:00, the boats started coming, and we were not disappointed! There must have been 20 vessels.
2. Tarpon Springs Parade: The morning after the boat parade in Hudson, we headed downtown to take in the Tarpon Springs parade. We got some folding chairs and walked the handful of blocks to find a spot in the shade. We ended up across the street from Johnny's, which ended up being a great spot. Civil servants, scouts, schools, groups, and more walked, sang, danced, and threw candy and beads. We had a great time, and are already looking forward to inviting some friends and family next year!
